Guest of Honor
This illustration was inspired by the Native American background of my father-in-law, and his affinity for the spiritual meaning behind this heavily symbolic animal. As challenging as it was to capture the ferocity and realism of the bear, the project became something of an experimental adventure to complete. Eventually the form began to emerge, and within the detail work I found a pleasant level of thereputic serenity take hold. Before I knew it the illustration was finished, and delivered as a gift.
